Yes! During Mermaids: Enchanting Encounters, the Aquatarium is completely transformed into a world of mermaid magic. Tickets for Mermaids: Enchanting Encounters will give you access to the entire Aquatarium, including all mermaid activities as well as all our regular animals/exhibits!

While you’ll still have the chance to meet our animals, please note that our regular enrichment presentations will be paused due to the increased activity during this unique transformation.

Yes! The Mermaids event is a very busy time and we do expect to sell-out well before opening day. Therefore, we strongly recommend purchasing tickets well in advance of the time and day you would like to join us.

To maintain safety at all times and ensure everyone can fully enjoy the exhibit floor, the Aquatarium kindly asks that handcarts, trolleys, and strollers are not used during the Mermaid event. We offer on-site, complimentary stroller parking upon check-in.

For our visitor's convenience, we also encourage the use of our complimentary coat check. A small donation to support the care and well-being of our animals would be greatly appreciated.

There are multiple parking options available at the Mermaids event.

1. Indoor parking is provided at Tall Ships Landing, accessible via Flint Street.

2. Flint Street outdoor parking lot.

3. Market Street parking.

4. Blockhouse Island parking lot.

Complimentary parking is offered on Kincaid Street, located South of Water Street. This is only a short walk from the Aquatarium.

We kindly ask our visitors to follow the recommended duration of 90 minutes for the Mermaids Enchanting Encounters experience.

Due to the nature of this event, we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate any changes to your booked time and date. If you cannot make the time or date that you booked, please call us at 613-342-6789 a minimum of 24 hours before your booked slot, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

We understand that everyone has different sensory needs. While we strive to create a welcoming environment for all, this event may not be ideal for individuals with sensory sensitivities. Due to the nature of this event, there are many activities and stimuli that can create a high-energy atmosphere. The last time slot of the day is generally the least busy and could offer a slightly quieter experience, but please note that this a popular event, so we do recommend considering your comfort level when making your decision. We want everyone to have the best possible experience, and we appreciate your understanding.

Mermaids is an exclusive event, and the use of Aquatarium coupons are not permitted during this time.

The Mermaid Gala is an annual fundraiser event, held the Friday evening before the start of the Mermaids event. This year's Gala will be held on March 13th, 2026. The Gala is a fun evening with live music, mermaids, food, drinks, and a casino. All proceeds from the Gala go towards supporting the Aquatarium's mission and beloved animals. This year’s Gala embraces our Carnival theme, bringing vibrant energy and festive celebration to kick off Mermaids: Enchanting Encounters in unforgettable style.
